There's no new word from Microsoft as to when the company plans to deliver the next major update to Office for Mac.Įarlier this year, the expectation/rumor was that a new major version of Office for Mac would be out before the end of calendar 2014 Microsoft has been regularly updating Office for Mac 2011, since Microsoft released the product back in the fall of 2010, with these kinds of point releases. The update requires Mac OS X 10.5.8 or later and also Office for Mac 14.1.0 or later. Microsoft made available for download a minor update to its Office for Mac 2011 client on June 25.
